Amarah Hernandez (she/her, b. 1992) is a human from a desert town in California who now calls San Francisco home. As a photographer and writer, she captures the essence of people and places that matter to her. Her work spans short fiction and narrative screenplays, focusing on themes of humanism, phenomenology, and the contemplation of home and belonging.

Amarah is known locally for owning Beacon Coffee & Pantry, a warm, welcoming space in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. She strongly believes in the concept of the third space as a platform to showcase and support our expressive and expansive community. The shop hosts art events and carries thoughtfully selected goods from independent makers, publishers, and more.
